Surprisingly, making over this table didn’t take anywhere near as long as I thought it would. Yay! If you don’t remember, I started with this:

To strip the table, I broke it down completely–it was so much easier that way.

Once all the pieces were stripped…well, I painted. I added some water (can’t really tell you how much because I didn’t measure) to some Valspar True White semi-gloss paint and lightly brushed over the whole table.

I painted and did some intense sanding. And then painted again. And then sanded. I love the different dimensions the layers bring! I put a wood lacquer all over the table to protect it. It added just the right amount of gloss. The final result…

I LOVE the top! It has the perfect mix of wood & white paint!

Oh table, you’re so so pretty!! Chairs–not so much. Next up, recovering those chairs! Still trying to figure out what exactly I want to recover them with. I have visions of creams and whites, but is that really practical?? I think originally I was thinking a pattern with color. So many choices! On the hunt for fabric to match my lovely kitchen table. Tschüß!!
